为落实“科教兴国”战略,进一步加强科技交流与合作,建立产业技术创新战略联盟,提升高校服务社会能力,加快科技创新和成果转化步伐,南京信息工程大学与北京周同科技有限公司在产学研合作基础上,坚持“面向未来、加强合作、优势互补、共同发展”的宗旨,共同搭建产品研发和转化创新平台,共建“周同科技-南京信息工程大学人工智能海洋联合研究院”,并于2018年正式挂牌。研究院瞄准国家重大战略需求,利用AI(Artificial Intelligence)人工智能技术开展海洋动力过程的机理及其与气候学科交叉课题的基础研究,主要研究方向为:人工智能海洋学、海洋动力学、海-气相互作用、海洋与气候系统数值模式4个研究单元。研究院现有固定成员15人,其中科技部重点研发计划首席科学家1位、教育部新世纪人才、江苏省特聘教授1位,博士3位,在读研究生6位。研究院将积极承担国家各类科研项目,努力推进科研创新,发表高水平论文。同时,研究院将注重国际合作交流,通过设立国际合作交流项目,汇聚全球人工智能和海洋科学研究的高峰力量,与国内外人工智能、海洋科研院所建立了广泛而深入的合作关系,逐步发展为全球人工智能海洋科学研究领域具有国际影响力的研究中心与合作交流平台。

        In order to implement the strategy of “Rejuvenating the Country through Science and Education”, to further strengthen scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, to establish strategic alliances for industrial technology innovation, to enhance the ability of universities to serve the society, and to accelerate the pace of technological innovation and transformation of results, the Joint AI Oceanography Academy was formally established on 01 December 2018, by NUIST and UNIVER on the basis of cooperation between industry, universities and research institutes. Adhering to the principle of “Facing the Future, Strengthening Cooperation, Complementing Each Other’s Advantages, and Common Development”, a joint platform for product research and development, transformation and innovation, the UNIVER-NUIST Joint AI Oceanography Academy was officially launched in 2018. Aiming at the major strategic needs of the country, our organization use AI (artificial intelligence) technology to carry out the researches on the mechanism of ocean dynamic processes and the cross-cutting issues with climate disciplines. Our research includes AI Oceanography, Ocean Dynamics, Sea-Air Interaction, and Oceanic and Climatological Numerical Modeling. Currently, we have 15 full-time employees, including 1 chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, 1 special professor of Jiangsu Province, 3 Ph.D. candidates, 6 postgraduate students. The academy will actively undertake various national scientific research projects, promote scientific research innovation and publish more high-level papers. Furthermore, our organization will focus on the international cooperation and exchanges, gathering the global talents of AI and Oceanography. Through wide and deep cooperation, our organization hopes to develop into an internationally recognized research center for global AI Oceanography.
